![]() ![]() Rocky mounts do have mounting gear for BMWs. I know yakima has something called mighty mounts to fit their racks on the OEM roof racks, similarly thule has xadapts. Which particular models will work with the OEM roof racks? I am planning to buy them used as they are all over the place in craigslist. My primary choices are thule, yakima and rocky mounts. This takes me to my next question, what aftermarket bike racks will work with OEM roof racks? So which of the are mounts are safer, easier to load unload bikes ? I don't want my bikes flying out on the highway. My concern is safety of myself, car and other cars. Or may be just one mount and put another bike in the trunk. ![]() ![]() Or I may install quick release on her front wheel too and go with two fork mounts. I might go with one fork mount and one wheel mount since I have quick release on my roadie but her bike is without the quick release. I would like to know, whether fork mount is better or the wheel mounting system(with the frame clamp) is better. So, I bought an OEM roof rack system for E46/E39. And if I have my fiancé going with me for a ride, its impossible to load two bikes into the trunk. Alright, I am tired of removing the front wheel, folding the rear seat and carefully placing my road bike in my coupe when I go riding. ![]()
